Walking Through The Valleys

the only way out is through

Dave Choutka

Welcome

YOUR VALLEY IS NOT YOUR DESTINATION

The valley can feel like it will never end. God doesn’t transport us from one season to another. Instead, He promises to walk with us THROUGH every disappointment, every mistake, every hurt, every joy, every lonely desert and dark valley.

Sharing experiences and lessons learned through an eight year valley, Dave Choutka’s honest and hope-filled words are a flashlight of encouragement to those who are navigating their own journey.

The only way out is through.

5.0 out of 5 stars You won’t be disappointed!

You never know when you pick up a book for the first time if it is going to resonate with you. Will it provide practical help, or will it be filled with stories that keeps you engaged? This book delightfully does both, and more, in a powerful and hope filled way.

Dave shares his unique story of walking through the valley, a storyline that arches from beginning to end. Along the way are situational observations, fantastic Biblical insight, details of his past, and Growth Questions at the end of each chapter to discover where you are on the journey and to provide help. Woven together in such a personal way, you feel as though you just sat down with a friend for coffee and walked away encouraged, knowing exactly what you need to do.

There is an instant connection with Dave’s vulnerability, throughout the book, that allows you to process your own valleys with fresh eyes. I found myself nodding in agreement at certain points and thinking to myself, “I wish I would have done that” in others.

The reality is, everyone goes through valleys. You are not alone. I encourage you to allow Dave to show you, either by yourself or with a small group, how to walk through your valley Biblically. As Dave says, “The only way out is through.”

The Psalmist notes that though he walks through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, he will fear no evil. The word for “shadow of death” can also be translated as darkness, as gloom. Ultimately death is the greatest darkness, the greatest gloom.
In the book, “Walking through the Valleys” by Dave Choutka, he speaks of his own journey through valleys that included death, darkness and gloom. Dave’s journey provides a wonderful gift for all of us who have to negotiate the various valleys of life. “Walking through the Valleys” provides the reader with a realistic and honest map for making it through whatever valley you might be walking through. Dave’s dependance on the Lord Jesus Christ is evident from the start of his story. And this dependance provides the encouragement we all need for valley walking.
This book is a wonderful gift for every believer.
